How does digital culture change higher education? (Naoko)

On beginning brainstorming for next directions, I am feeling uncertain and full of questions. Though you might hear me too conservative, my questions or doubts here mostly pertain to methods.

How does the promotion of digital culture change the value and ways of higher education? I know today’s undergraduates are digital natives, and I am finding that digital technologies enable us to make education resources open. Considering digital literacy is among cultural capitals, however, does not it possibly impose a new requirement for some of students to enjoy the benefits of higher education?

How the student-teacher relationship can be altered by the impacts of digital culture in classrooms? Does making use of digital materials for teaching and learning produce no negative outcomes? I am also wondering whether face-to-face interactions between teachers and students is not necessary for higher education any more, when the spread of online learning completed in the near future.
