DRAG QUEEN STORY HOUR AT THE LIBRARY!

We hope you will join us at several community libraries for Drag Queen Story Hour, a unique storytime for children ages 3-8 that raises awareness of gender diversity, promotes self-acceptance, and builds empathy through an enjoyable literary experience.

Created by Michelle Tea and RADAR Productions in San Francisco, DQSH now happens regularly in places like Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, and other cities and towns around the world!

“Drag Queen Story Hour is a fun and fabulous way of encouraging children to read. It is also a great way to teach them to embrace our society’s differences and diversity,” says New York City Council Member Daniel Dromm, who is providing funding for DQSH events at our Jackson Heights and Elmhurst libraries. “I thank Queens Library President and CEO Dennis Walcott and his staff for working with me to make this event a success.”
