Queer(ing) IR – Ariel

Here is the link to the site. I’m also uploading a word doc with all the links in the dropbox in case the link doesn’t work.

This course is meant to utilize queer praxis when analyzing aspects of international relations. It is designed to be an upper division undergrad course using only OER resources. In addition to international civil society and global institution websites, booklets, and reports, the course uses political blog posts as counter points. This first unit (as displayed on the site) examines global institutions, human rights, international development, the inclusion/mainstreaming of LGBTIQ issues within human rights and international development, and finally, queer critiques of LGBTIQ inclusion/mainstreaming within global institutions.  I’d highly recommend Rahul Rao’s work if you are interested in postcolonial queer theory. Some of his postings are throughout the syllabus in addition to a few OER articles. Uploaded another work by him to the dropbox.

Hope everyone has a wonderful summer.
